Welcome to the Nebagamon Lake Association!

In 1985 a group of Lake Nebagamon area residents formed to work towards protecting the lake, as well as to enhance recreational opportunities, and to get to know their neighbors. Since that time, the association has grown to over 200 property members.

The Nebagamon Lake Association (NLA) would like to invite and encourage you to be a member of our organization. The organization would cease to exist without Lake Nebagamon area property owners banding together to form the organization in 1985. Because of the current membership of over 200 families in Lake Nebagamon, our association has been instrumental in the following:

Create, administer, and provide funding for a lake protection effort to protect the lake from Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) such as zebra mussels and Eurasian milfoil. The risks of AIS have been highly publicized around the country, and having all lakeshore owners connected to the prevention efforts as well as connected in case of an infestation is crucial.

Create, administer, and provide funding to improve the fish habitat in the lake. This includes working with public officials and private landowners to improve fish habitat as well as working through public officials, organizations, and private donations to stock the lake with extended length fingerling walleye over the last number of years (over 16,000 stocked in 2013 alone).

Measure, record, and analyze key metrics of lake health and well-being, such as testing of water quality and tracking of loon wildlife. Work directly with the Wisconsin DNR to share results and create and execute action plans.

Plan and hold important community events such as annual garage sales, youth boater’s safety classes, a Fourth of July boat parade, and a summer social for association members.

The initiatives listed above are just some of what our association has accomplished and will continue to work towards. Without our association, many of these great programs would not exist, and that would not be a good thing for our lake or our village. These programs maintain and improve the health of our lake and our community, which, along with maintaining property values, are goals of every property owner on or around Lake Nebagamon.

Everything we do is done through volunteered time by property owners. We can always use more hands on deck to work on these important initiatives. In addition to joining the organization and pledging your support in our important initiatives, please also consider helping with our organization. Our dues are only $25 a year, but these dues are instrumental to our ability to continue providing a positive impact.
