Clean Boats Clean Waters at Boat Launch

Clean Boats, Clean Waters (CBCW) is a volunteer-led watercraft inspection program dedicated to protecting our lakes from harmful aquatic invasive species. We receive WI DNR grants to monitor the public boat launch area to help prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species.

Boats and recreational equipment can unintentionally transport these invasive species from one waterbody to another. Our CBCW inspectors are the frontline defense, stationed at boat landings to help boaters perform quick checks, answer questions, and spread awareness on how to keep our waters pristine.

Stop Aquatic Hitchhikers!

To keep Lake Nebagamon clean and healthy, every boater must follow these simple, legally required steps before launching and upon leaving the water:

  • Inspect your boat, trailer, and equipment.
  • Remove any visible aquatic plants, animals, or mud.
  • Drain all water from the boat, motor, livewells, and bilge.
  • Never move live fish away from the landing.
  • Dispose of unwanted bait in the trash, not in the water.

By taking just a few minutes to clean, drain and dry you play a vital role in preserving the natural beauty, native wildlife, and property values of Lake Nebagamon for generations to come.
