Education

NLA works to educate members and the broader community about practices that protect and preserve the health of Lake Nebagamon.

NLA shares information and resources through our spring and fall newsletters and have featured speakers at our annual meetings to keep members informed about lake health, environmental stewardship, and emerging issues affecting our lake.

NLA has contributed articles to the Community Association Newsletter and presenting information to the Village Board and Public Works Committee on important lake-management issues, including enhanced wake surfing and boat decontamination to help prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species.

NLA regularly participates in the Northern Lakes Annual Conference to learn about emerging lake-management issues, exchange ideas, and share knowledge with other lake associations and communities across northwestern Wisconsin.

NLA’’s educational efforts build on a Wisconsin DNR grant received in 2005 that supported educational materials on good lake practices to lake property owners, local builders and contractors, and real estate professionals.

Through these activities, NLA promotes informed decision-making, responsible lake stewardship, and the long-term health of Lake Nebagamon.
